Last week's Solar Eruption

Do you recall where you were and what you were doing on April sixteenth 2012 at roughly 1:25 PM Eastern Daylight Time, just last week? Well, whatever you were doing, you were probably unaware that there was a massive (for us, but actually pretty small considering the sun's size) Solar Eruption happening one hundred and fifty million kilometers away. It's quite shocking looking, really.

The huge expulsion of Coronal Mass Ejection made a blazing red loop of gaseous flames, as seen in the NASA Observatory's footage (shown below). I encourage you to watch it...You would never think the sun looks the way it does. It looks distinctly like a great ball of lava which is rather neat, though frankly quite terrifying, really. The video is accelerated, obviously, as the process actually took around three hours.

                                                        Video:
If you have trouble viewing the video above (because it was uploaded from my realplayer), then try the one below. It's from YouTube and the footage isn't as specific, but it was all I could find otherwise.
                                                         Video:

 - General information and (first) video plus image from PopSci, both footages belong to NASA. The pitiful "article" is property of yours truly.
